President, Track and Trail Snowmobile Club
Your Vision:
All should be available (depending on the Season ) to all Nova Scotians.
whether by motorized(during the winter months when no property damage
will occur) or non motorized transportation.
Strengths:
Barriers and Issues:
There seems to be a growing mindset that ANY type of motorized recreation is BAD. This is far from the truth.
Community's Priorities:
Guiding the health and sustainability:
Cooperation among landowners,Gov't and any other stakeholder is paramount.
Additional Comments:
I am speaking on behalf of a Snowmobile Club that requires the permission
of both private landowners and Gov't in order to allow our members to
carry out safe, enjoyable family recreation. We (Motorized off road
vehicle owners) seem to be put in a negative light by Media and
misguided officials .
I agree there are bad apples out there but the laws in place can take care of those.
We do not want to see further restrictions in our recreation. Remember many
projects includeing bridges , trail upgrades and such are taken on by many
Sled clubs yearly.
The impact of losing this winter "White Gold, as
described in NB" would be damaging to many businesses. Taxes , food
and lodging are spent daily by Sledders during the season.
Please do not cause this to disappear due to mismanagement of our crown lands.
