Your Vision:
Strategic areas of woodlands and coastline should be preserved for conservation
of biodiversity and places to experience nature. These places should be
representative of the natural geography, flora and fauna of the area
where they are located and they should be as large as possible.

Strengths:
There remain large areas of the province available for this use with places
that have been set aside or could be set aside. Nova Scotians support
this and value these places.

Barriers and Issues:
Motorized vehicles and RVs damage these places and threaten their use and their
existence: these machines frustrate the proper use of these places;
more attention must be paid to proper forest management; beaches should
be properly maintained.

Community's Priorities:
Proper forest management techniques and maintenance of grounds, buildings,
beaches, etc. should be undertaken, with appropriate staffing, so that
parks can be opened for the enjoyment of residents and visitors. RVs
(4-wheelers) should be kept out of parks .

Guiding the health and sustainability:
1. Participation by the local public in the management and operation of
parks. 2. Proper funding. 3. A determined effort in the form of written
philosophy, legislation, regulations and funding on the part of all
levels of government as well as efforts to educate and involve the
public.

Additonal Comments:
My family and I use Martinique Park on Isle Madame frequently, as well as Pondville beach and we feel
they have been neglected and have been damaged by neglect. We consider
them essential to the health of the community and the beauty of Isle
Madame
