Your Vision:
HARMONY! And mainly, protection of our natural spaces and species.
Strengths:
All four are critical. We need to protect more areas to allow our natural flora and fauna to not just survive, but to thrive.
Barriers and Issues:
Industry, commercialization, development, pollution, exploitation, greed, money.
Community's Priorities:
To maintain our natural areas. To develop more protected areas. To ensure that future generations can enjoy the natural wonder of our province in the same way as the generations that preceeded them.
Guiding the health and sustainability:
Protection. Sustainable development. Proper management of resources. Saying NO to development when it comes at the cost of the ecosystems around it.
Additional Comments:
Our wildlife, our fish, our forests and our waterways are in major jeopardy. We cannot continue to abuse them under the guise of 'jobs' and 'development' and worst of all 'progress'. WE NEED TO PROTECT OUR NATURAL SPACES. They are part of our identity as a province and a part of what makes this area special. PLEASE consider their infinite importance when dealing with industries that care more about their bottom line than the ecosystem that sustains them. There are too many things that we cannot afford to lose!!!!
