Your Vision:
I am hoping that Nova Scotians will work together to preserve our heritage of beautiful beaches, lighthouses, parks and forests and realize what we have inherited and how to save it.....be aware we are unique and promote it and share it with the rest of the world.
Strengths:
There is nothing like us in the world. We are unique and we can survive together
Barriers and Issues:
I feel there is no real promotion. We should care for our homeland, don't take it for granted and work together to keep what we have and share it with the rest of the world.
Community's Priorities:
All industries arrive at a mutual understanding of the importance of each to the region and how to preserve each industry without forsaking the other. Take care of what we have before it is gone. To start in the schools to have the children become more aware of their roots...music, culture and how to share it with others. We need to be alive with our culture ..... music in our streets! crafts promoted on every turn! Show them who we are and welcome them to enjoy our talents and ways of life.
Guiding the health and sustainability:
While living in Hawaii I learned how they embrace their culture and promote it as tourism is their main industry. Millions of people are supported on the world's vision of their culture. We must promote ourselves in the same way. We just don't realize that our history and our cultures are unique to the rest of the world and the world is hungry for us to share this.
Additional Comments:
The Hawaiian people have a saying which sums up what I am trying to say:
Ua mau ke`ea o ka`aina i ka pono...
the life of the land is perpetuated in righteousness
