I wish to add my name to the growing list of Nova Scotian citizens who oppose the mining of uranium in our province. We must not sacrifice our health, our groundwater and our air, not to mention the natural beauty of our province, to mine what we don't need and don't want--uranium. The best interests of the many must not be set aside so mining companies can show a profit. Our government is looking for feedback from citizens, it is saying. It is my hope that it will read and listen to that feedback. We all know the dangers of taking uranium out of the ground--let's stop the possibilities of doing that with a legislated ban on uranium mining in Nova Scotia.
