Daniel MacInnesDr. MacInnes is a Professor, Department of Sociology and Anthropology at St. Francis Xavier University. He has held several Voluntary Planning positions including previous Board membership and Chair of the Fisheries Sector Committee. Born in Halifax, he attended Jesuit Seminary, received a classical bachelor of arts, Gonzaga, masters of arts in sociology, Memorial, Canada Council Doctoral Fellowship, and a doctorate, sociology, McMaster. He was appointed to the faculty of St. Francis Xavier University in 1980. Dr. MacInnes holds a long-standing interest in rural questions, more particularly fisheries issues. He has received several research grants and has written extensively on fishery and rural policy-related topics. He has served on a number of professional and community volunteer boards.
