Ms. Candace Stevenson,

Candace Stevenson’s professional career includes 28 years with the Province of Nova Scotia where she jointly held the positions of Executive Director of Heritage and Culture and Executive Director of the Nova Scotia Museum. She has been involved with community and international development for 40 years, beginning with 2 years teaching with CUSO. Ms Stevenson's work with the not-for-profit sector as a consultant and volunteer includes several prominent boards and committees. She is the Chair of United Way of Halifax Region, the Chair of Clean Nova Scotia and will join the board of Pier 21 in June 2009. She also volunteers with the Halifax Refugee Clinic. Other highlights include 3 years as an expert assessor for the Cultural Capitals of Canada, a board member of VSO Canada and Chair of the Canadian Museums Association.
Before joining the Voluntary Planning board, Ms Stevenson co-chaired the Natural Resources Citizen Engagement Committee and was a member of the Heritage Task Force.
