My main comment is that the report due in December has to better reflect what happened in all of those public meetings. The "What We Heard" is just too vague, and you need to somehow compile just what was really heard at those meetings. I know that is a difficult job, and that some subjects are easily handled and others are not. But try to think of all the people who did go to the meetings and expressed themselves, and who now are looking for evidence that the process involves recording and compiling those ideas and preferences etc., in order to then go on to Stage II. I know you mentioned that all of the written submissions will be passed on the new committee, and that they will be expected to go over them. But some sort of summary of them is in order before the current committee ends its commitment.
The workshop at Cornwallis I found quite frustrating. I think most participants felt quite constrained within those 5 or 6 themes chosen for us. I did have some useful interactions with other people, particularly a forester in my group.
