Brad Armstrong

Dear VP

I can appreciate the volume of work involved in this process, it is encouraging that so many Nova Scotians took part in this important process. However it is very important that VP makes a strong case to the DNR that big changes are needed in the way our crown assets are managed.

It was very clear at the meeting that I attended that people were not happy with the status quo continuing as business as usual e.g. too much clear cutting on our crown lands. It became increasing evident that we need a new approach in the way our natural resources are managed. Words like diversity, balance and sustainable were the norm at the meeting at Blockhouse and I hope that this will be reflected in your final discussions with the DNR.

You have a very important job ahead of you, one that will have a direct impact on the future of this province and I hope that we see the long overdue changes come as a result of your recommendations to the DNR and their senior staff members.

Brad Armstrong,
Conservation Director for the Friends of Nature
