Natural Resources Strategy
Voluntary Planning is tasked with conducting an extensive citizen engagement exercise to help government develop a long-term natural resources strategy for the province. The focus is on four key areas: forests, minerals, parks and biodiversity.
Nova Scotians participated in community meetings that were held from May 12 to June 17 across the province.
The committee released a working paper and solicited public feedback and held 3 additional workshops.
The final report was released on April 17, 2009.
The committee heading this effort is comprised entirely of volunteers who are donating their time, effort and energy to work with the citizens of Nova Scotia.
